When you need somebody, any body will do.
Alaska, home of the moose, of baked desserts and home to Paul Barnell (Robin Williams), a travel
agent selling dreams but living in a financial nightmare. Up to his neck in debt and snow,
with a foul-mouthed wife, Margaret (Holly Hunter), suffering from Tourette's syndrome, Paul hopes
to solve his problems with the help of his missing brother, Raymond (Woody Harrelson). In an effort to pay
off his debtors and get some medical help for his wife, Paul tries to cash in on his
missing brother's life insurance policy of $1 million. However, he comes face to face with
Ted Waters (Giovanni Ribisi), a tough young insurance investigator. Ted denies
Paul's request as Raymond has only been missing for five years, not long enough to
pronounce him decreased. Paul one day accidentally stumbles across a corpse in the dumpster behind
his shop. His immediate horror is soon overtaken by a crazy idea - he could pretend the corpse is his brother,
claim the policy and solve all his problems.
Alison plays Tiffany, Ted's (Giovanni Ribisi) long-suffering girlfriend and resident-town clairvoyant.

• Alison's Reviews:
"..Ribisi's subdued frustration is compelling and there's a wonderful
brittle energy about his scenes with girlfriend Alison Lohman." [RTE.ie Entertainment]
"The Big White is a very good and underrated little movie, full of black comedy,
clever coincidences and plot twists, and fun performances from Hunter,
Harrelson, and Alison Lohman." [FilmCritic.com]
