Humor and drama blend perfectly in this painfully honest tale about a young woman growing up in the 1970's.
After dancing her entire childhood with dreams of attending The Julliard School for performing arts, the
beautiful and talented Alex (Angela Gotts) has hit a bump in the road. Alex's seemingly perfect
childhood is dissolving before her very eyes in this unusually insightful and intimate look at the
life of a sixteen-year-old girl.
In an effort to raise self-sufficient children, Alex's liberal, '70's parents
(Ellen Greene and Robert Hays) brought up Alex and her younger brother, Scott
(Sean Flynn), without boundaries and with few of society's traditional family values.
Unfortunately, the safety of a routine and structured life is precisely what Alex wants most
when her family begins to crumble.
Alex's parents are ending their marriage and she finds that there is really no one there to help
her face the complex issues of teen pregnancy, sex, drugs, and alcohol. While her parents
struggle with their new identities, Alex's future as a dancer is in jeopardy.
When Alex's boyfriend Patrick, (Danny Masterson) won't stop drinking heavily,
Alex's craving for affection from an adult drives her to sleep with her mother's ex-lover,
Armand (Ivo Cuzarida) and things really get messy.
Alison plays Alex's square-ish friend, Camelia.
